Come away to a distant place and rest awhile…
“He said to his disciples, ‘Come away to some lonely place all by yourselves, and rest for awhile,’ for there were so many coming and going that there was not time for them even to eat.” ~ Mark 6:31
There are two types of sabbaticals at Genesis:
Individual sabbaticals. You design your stay and the length of the sabbatical. Since each guest is in search of something different, you will have the benefit of our staff members to assist you in creating your own program.
Many who choose Genesis Spiritual Life and Conference Center are drawn to the individualized approach of designing their stay. Since each guest is in search of something different, you will have the benefit of our staff members to assist you in creating your own program. Whether returning from mission abroad, transitioning from positions of leadership, or contemplating a life-transition, all appreciate the wide variety of options Genesis offers to foster holistic integration of body, mind and spirit. You will find a relaxed atmosphere, time and space for rest, reflection, reading, and the pursuit of your individual interests.
Autumn in New England Sabbatical. Each October, with its splendor of colors, crisp air and crunchy leaves, Genesis’ Autumn in New England sabbatical invites inner peacekeeping, quiet reflection, and a deepening of contemplative awareness. You will also have opportunities to experience the arts, culture and natural beauty of Western Massachusetts. The sabbatical is designed for people from all faiths and spiritual paths.
Includes daily prayer, spiritual direction, on-site private room, three meals per day, and access to our contemplative spaces and Providence Arboretum. You may also book health and wellness activities, including yoga, relaxation meditation, massage and more (additional costs apply).
You may extend your sabbatical to include time before and/or after the month of October.
Genesis Spiritual Life and Conference Center, a sponsored ministry of the Sisters of Providence of Holyoke, Massachusetts, welcomes persons of all faiths, spiritual paths, and lifestyles. Genesis is home to the Providence Arboretum set on nineteen wooded acres, where the grounds are kept in concert with nature’s wisdom. The Center offers on-site and online programs, retreats, sabbaticals, and meeting/conference space for groups and guests who appreciate a holistic approach to mind, body, and spirit.
Genesis’ Spiritual Directors are experienced and employ a variety of modalities in accompaniment.
Guests may also wish to take advantage of the many rich historical, cultural and educational events offered in Western Massachusetts and our nearness to the local YMCA and library. We are just over one hour from the Vermont border, the Berkshires, and other New England attractions.
