Event:Walking with the Prodigal Child - Ministering to Families Affected by Addiction

This conference for pastors, clergy, pastoral care staff and funeral directors is designed to further educate ourselves as we minister to families and loved ones who are struggling with addiction.  Guest speakers will share personal experiences and professional expertise with addiction and recovery, loss of loved ones, and offering support to others.  Sessions include:

  • Addiction and Recovery  Current science of addiction and understanding the dynamics of recovery
  • Grief and Loss  How death to overdose uniquely impacts families, loved ones and friends
  • Ministering to Families  Coping strategies for the journey of integrating loss; resources and practical supports for pastors; and, tips for ministering to families impacted by addiction and overdose death.
