Making Room for the Holy
4-week VIRTUAL program
Mondays, November 29, December 6, 13, and 20, 2021.
7:00 - 8:15pm
There is an unnoticed spiritual cost to keeping clutter in our lives. What kind of clutter? Both internal and external varieties. God’s love is always present but we can have difficulty experiencing it until we sort through and release what is physically or metaphorically behind the closet door.
Advent is a golden time to clear away the clutter. Over four sessions, you can be in a supportive group to clear out what blocks God’s unconditional love. Your focus may be on cleaning a closet or garage or balancing the checkbook. And/or you may be moved to return phone calls, clear up that legal matter or reconnect with family or old friends. You choose what you want to take on. Perhaps you have tried to tackle something in the past with little success. Being part of a group sharing goals makes all the difference.
Each session will have a brief devotional and a new idea, as well as lots of sharing and mutual support. Make this Advent something really special for yourself. Let us be in relationship with God with loving self-reflection and self-acceptance, make room for the holy, and bring the divine more fully into our lives. We will meet each week for 75 minutes, sharing our victories and challenges. Limited space.
Here is what two participants said about “Making Room for the Holy”: “I have a sweeter, more loving, more personal understanding of God's unconditional and deep love for me. I found that God has a sense of humor and is not judging me-my every move- but instead is loving me at all times.”
“The tools you offered came along for me at a most opportune time. Each one has brought me to more deeply understand aspects of my personal history…and a starting point to move more freely into the future.”
