Many of us are among the walking wounded. Sometimes we know it; oftentimes, we don’t. We just know that we feel driven, drained, and/or chronically distracted, all of which are symptoms of unhealed, unacknowledged, or under-healed pain.
What can the Jesus story teach us about how to meet challenges like climate change, racism, environmental degradation, accelerating species extinctions, pollution, and the growing political polarization in our country? We look out onto a suffering world and know that things must change, but are we willing to be changed?
Throughout recorded history people with a variety of faith traditions, or without, have reported having spiritual experiences; such as hearing, seeing, being inspired by, or feeling the presence of a higher power. In this workshop we will explore a variety of spiritual experiences both in past and modern times.
Moms, daughters, grand-moms, and mother-figures of all types are invited to join us for a celebration of Motherhood and Mother Earth. Our day will include Centering Prayer, a ritual honoring Earth and blessing of each other, yoga for all abilities, a Yoga Nidra meditation, and a special Genesis luncheon. You won’t want to miss it!
The psalms poignantly speak about God and our yearning for intimate relationship in the midst of all of life’s circumstances. Through simple non-representational art activities, personal reflection time and communal sharing for those who wish, this art retreat focuses on the imagery of the psalms as entrance into ever deepening prayer. No artistic talent or experience is required.
