Evolutionary Christianity

Friday to Sunday, May 20-22, 2022

Facilitated by Fr. Norm Comtois, OMI, MA

The Universe Story – the story of the origin and development of the cosmos and its implications for our lives – has begun to touch our experience and influence our view of reality. The story comes from the discoveries of modern science, and in this time of planetary crisis calls us to inhabit a new paradigm, one in which we live out of the conviction of the connectedness of all life – an invitation to live the unitive consciousness that moved mystics of old to declare “all is one.” (Judy Cannato)

This weekend retreat will draw on the latest scientific understandings of the nature of the universe and weave them together with scripture, prayer, ritual and community to create an ecological and truly evolutionary experience.

Through teaching, reflection questions, dialogue, and quiet time for reflection, participants will be encouraged to consider the implications of the New Story. We will reflect on topics such as images of God, place of Jesus, language of prayer, and contemplative ecology.

Retreat culminates on Sunday with Eucharist and brunch.

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.
