“People of a Promise Keeper”

There are thousands of promises in the bible.  In each promise God pledges that something will or will not be done or given or come to pass.  During this retreat we will spend time looking at the promises of God in the Old and New Testament stories and how they apply to our lives.  There will be talks, small group discussion and an opportunity for quiet reflection time.

"People will come from the east and west and north and south and take their place at the table in the kingdom of God."  Luke 13:29

Facilitated by Val Liptak (pictured right) and Michele Suhocki (pictured left)

Valenda (Val) is a certified Spiritual Director, a Register Nurse and earned a Master degree in Health Care Management.  She currently works in the hospital administration and is passionate about serving complexed medical patients. She is involved in women’s retreats and bible studies, a Eucharist Minister, and is a member of several community organizations that support the underserved people in the community.  Valenda has been married for 30 years and has four adult children and three grandchild.  She takes care of her adult disabled sister and walks alone side her sister and children through joys and challenges of life.   Balancing time with others and time alone helps her to find her rhythm in this journey we call life.   As a Spiritual Director, Valenda is committed to honoring each person through attentive listening and conversation.  She enjoys encouraging women to deepening their relationship with God through bible stories, reflection, conversation, and journaling while supporting each person where they are on their life journey.

Michele is a Recreational Therapist and earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Fine Arts.  She currently works in a Long-Term Care facility and is passionate about serving Veterans who have Dementia/Alzheimer's, with honor and dignity.

She is involved in women’s retreats and bible studies, a Eucharist Minister, Lector and Homebound Minister.  Michele has been married for 29 years, has two adult children and one furry friend named Jax.

Taking time to unplug from this world, getting focused and getting real helps Michele accept her call to Discipleship, living by faith in Christ, walking in the Holy Spirit, and resting in God's Grace.

Inspired by “The Walk to Emmaus” story in the Gospel of Luke, she feels called to help people rediscover Christ's presence in their lives, to gain fresh understanding of God's transforming grace and to form friendships that foster faith and support spiritual maturity.

Try living one day without any unhealthy thoughts. It may be very difficult, but try another day, until it becomes habitual, and life will move in the direction of becoming healthy, vital, and alive.
