JUNE MindBody Offerings:
June 4th Challenging Chair Involves standing postures using the chair, increased strength building and deeper stretches. Sturdy chair, strap and non-slip floor recommended. Can stand comfortably on your own and balance is stable. Intermediate level.
June 11th Mindful Eating – Food as Connection Join Megan for a bite size discussion and experience of food and eating as a sacred source of energy and nourishment. We will discuss the journey of food from roots to mouth, talk about helpful digestion practices and give thanks and acknowledgement to eating as a sacred Earth ritual that nourishes the body, mind and spirit. A quiet space in your home is recommended.
June 18th Yoga for Your Back This class will cover habitual postures that place strain on the back muscles and joints as well as teach you strengthening and stretching practices to help back pain and stress. Megan will lead these practices on the floor as well as teach you daily practices for the chair and standing. For bodies that can get to the floor or a firm mattress.
June 25th Meditation Practice - The Art of Not Doing Breath and awareness of thought brings us into the present moment. We aim to meet that moment with wakefulness and presence, without the need to do anything but notice. Join Megan for a sitting meditation practice. We will talk about being vs doing and the basics of cultivating a home meditation practice. A quiet space in your home to practice is recommended.
