The retreat will take place on Zoom online, which participants can access using either their computers, smartphones or iPads/Tablets.  It will allow us to see each other and our work.

Here's a video from Sadelle Wiltshire about the change in format:  https://youtu.be/9d72Mdr9Z84

Sessions wil be Saturday, April 4 from 10am to Noon, then a break, and return back 2-4pm. Sunday we'll meet from 1pm - 3pm for a final session.

New, special reduced price of $75!

Join in a hands-on exploration into the mysteries of Celtic Knotwork and Illuminated Celtic Letters, step by step. These beautiful forms are less complex than the ancient manuscripts of Kells, Lindisfarne and others might lead you to believe and can be another way to connect to Spirit through drawing.  Experience the quiet, contemplative state that comes as you ink these beautiful designs.

You’ll first learn a couple of simple methods to create knotted patterns.  Then we’ll draw and play with a basic Uncial script and explore constructing beautifully ornamented letters using knots and unique patterns found in some of the old gospels through the use of ink and paint. Workshop includes a little bit of the historical side of knotwork with a film break.  No drawing experience needed, just an open mind and heart and the ability to make marks with a pen and pencil.

This is an expanded version of the one-day lettering workshop with studio time to make a personal project. There will be more on knotwork, lettering, an opportunity to make a special journal to store your illuminated letters.

It is the duty of every cultured man or woman to read sympathetically the scriptures of the world. If we are to respect others' religions as we would have them respect our own, a friendly study of the world's religions is a sacred duty.
