Throughout recorded history people with a variety of faith traditions, or without, have reported having spiritual experiences; such as hearing, seeing, being inspired by, or feeling the presence of a higher power. In this workshop we will explore a variety of spiritual experiences both in past and modern times. The experience of mystics such as the canonized Teresa of Avila, the origins of A Course in Miracles, the “white light” experience of Bill Wilson who co-founded Alcoholics Anonymous, and accounts from everyday people will be shared.
We will explore how people both define and attempt to connect to spirituality, and the barriers to connecting with a loving Higher Power. We will offer some of the ways people use to develop a conscious contact to spirituality. Participants will be invited to share their experiences and perspectives on developing a spiritual connection in an open, accepting and non-judgmental space.
This retreat will include lecture, discussion, small group and individual work, meditation and reflection time. $40 fee includes lunch.
